The shawl begins at the center and is worked outwards to the border. There are two increases in every row which create a long banana-like shape. The two-color cabled border is worked sideways at the end and attached to the body by means of simple decreases and slipped stitches. The sample shawl is worked in three contrasting colors but would look equally beautiful when knit in just one.
Recommended Yarn: (100% merino wool / 165 yards / 151 meters / 50 grams). Sample is shown in (MC) 01 Ivory: 3 balls, (CC1) 15 Green: 2 balls, & (CC2) 14 Navy: 1 ball.
Needles:
US 8 (5.0 mm) 80 cm / 32” circular needle

Gauge: (after blocking): 15 stitches & 36 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Garter st with US 8 (5.0 mm) needle
Size: Approximately 75” / 190 cm wide along top edge & 19” / 50 cm high
